About this tour

Trek Overview

The Dayara Bugyal Trek is renowned as one of India’s most scenic and beginner-friendly alpine treks. Nestled in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, this adventure takes you through ancient forests, meadows that seem to reach the sky, and high-altitude vistas showcasing Bandarpoonch, Gangotri, and Draupadi Ka Danda peaks. Suited to all age groups with moderate fitness, it’s a unique blend of natural beauty, local culture, and Himalayan grandeur.

About Trek

This trek begins from the serene mountain village of Raithal, winding through dense woods and open alpine grasslands, culminating at a majestic altitude of 11,181 ft. Dayara Bugyal offers spectacular scenery every season — from snow-laden winter expanses and wildflower-strewn spring meadows to monsoon greens and starlit autumns. Participants also witness authentic Garhwali culture, including vibrant festivals like the Butter Milk Festival if visiting in August. Trekkers traverse approximately 22 km (round trip), with routes flexible enough for short 4-day escapes or immersive journeys.

How to Reach

The baseline for all treks is Dehradun Railway Station. From Dehradun, organizers typically arrange shared taxis or private vehicles for the 175 km, 7–8 hour scenic drive to Raithal base camp, passing via Mussoorie, Suwakholi, and Uttarkashi.

  • By Air: Fly into Jolly Grant Airport (about 25 km from Dehradun city). Cabs/buses take under an hour to the railway station.

  • By Train: Dehradun is well connected with cities like Delhi and Haridwar; Nanda Devi and Shatabdi Express are popular trains.

  • By Road: Overnight buses run from Delhi ISBT (Kashmere Gate) to Dehradun (6–8 hours). Local buses, Vikrams, or taxis help reach the pickup point from the bus stand.
Note: Withdraw cash in Dehradun or Uttarkashi, as Raithal has no reliable ATMs. Limited network (mainly Jio, BSNL) is available only in Raithal.
